Our Story
Musty Paws™ began with a simple frustration.
Like many dog owners, we searched for a quality dog paw balm to help care for our own dog's paws. While many paw balms provided some benefit, we found that thick waxes and balms could be difficult to apply between the toes and into the narrow paw crevices where moisture, unwanted paw odours and persistent paw licking were often most noticeable.
We wanted something different.
Something that was lightweight, easy to apply, naturally absorbed, and designed specifically for everyday paw care.
When we couldn't find the product we were looking for, our founder decided to create it.
Drawing on the founder's extensive knowledge of New Zealand's indigenous botanicals, native plants and premium botanical oils, we began researching whether New Zealand's unique botanical heritage could inspire a different approach to routine paw care.
After extensive research, formulation and refinement, two remarkable New Zealand botanicals stood out above the rest — premium Mānuka and Horopito.
Those botanicals became the foundation of Musty Paws™.
Rather than creating another traditional dog paw balm, we developed a lightweight botanical paw oil designed to flow naturally between the toes, paw crevices and other difficult-to-reach areas while supporting everyday paw hygiene, conditioning and freshness.
To the best of our knowledge, Musty Paws™ is the world's first dog paw oil to combine premium New Zealand Horopito and Mānuka botanicals.

Why We Created an Oil Instead of Another Paw Balm
When researching the market, we noticed that nearly every dog paw care product was a thick wax or dog paw balm.
While these products can be useful on paw pads, we wanted to create something that could naturally reach between the toes and into narrow paw crevices where routine grooming can often be more challenging.
That idea became Musty Paws™.
A lightweight botanical dog paw oil designed for quick, convenient everyday application without the heavy feel often associated with traditional paw balms.
Rather than replacing dog paw balms, Musty Paws™ offers dog owners an alternative approach to everyday paw care.
